"From the moment we entered through the gates, we were consistently wowed by the beauty of the property - inside, outside, the general area, all of it. You can feel the history of the place but everything is up-to-date and Extremely nice/clean/luxurious. Getting there is relatively simple - we ended up flying to Milan but had also considered flying to Rome or Pisa which work equally well (Pisa is the closest but doesn't have as many flight options). The house is located in a small village at the top of a steep hill with a great view. If you need to, you can quickly walk to right into this village to grab fruit, fresh pesto, wine and other staples. You can see the Mediterranean in the near distance on the walk - amazing.

The house itself feels completely private and secure; it's big and everyone was able to spread out. The property feels big too (you don't see neighbors) and has lemon trees, rosemary bushes, olives, lavender and all kinds of other plants and flowers growing in terraced gardens. Mila cooks using many of these ingredients from the property itself, either in the stocked kitchen or the stone oven on the patio - where we ate almost all the time. Getting to nearby towns is easy; we would alternate between spending the day at the house and heading out on day trips. Cell phone service is 100% fine at the house and beyond (PS - don't forget to bring a headset/earphones for hands-free calling unless you want to get a €75 Euro ticket payable on the spot in cash like I did). No downsides here - beautifully restored house, clean, large pool, pretty grounds, really nice views, helpful caretakers, quiet, private/secure/comfortable, easy access to other towns/sights. Would absolutely go back."
